Eyes Wide Shut...

So consumed and focused on the obvious, we fail to see the enemy walking through the back door.  The master or deceit is wreaking havoc all around us and while we all run to see what the commotion is all about, we don't leave anyone on post to guard.

I believe that's what's happening to many of us.  We have become so consumed with the obvious issues of life, that we are being caught off guard by the bold attacks of the enemy.  The issues that are knocking us off balance aren't some secret mysterious thing, no - it's right in our faces, but we have our eyes wide shut!

I Peter 5:8...Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour..

Matthew 26:41...Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak...

Don't Trip

A lot of times I think people falter because they are so concerned with what others around them are doing.  We get so focused on another person's race; what they are doing right or wrong and we spend so much time analyzing them that we neglect our own races.  However, if you keep looking to the left and the right - you're eventually going to trip.

We can become so consumed in the running patterns of others until we lose sight on the training that we've received.  We may forget how to control our breathing or even how to pace ourselves. We become distracted by others who have fallen behind in the race and also the ones who've gained momentum and have approached or passed us.  At some point in time we may even begin to panic as we feel ourselves losing control.  However, it only takes a moment to regain our composure, pull ourselves together and get back on track.

It's like this in life... Make it up in your mind to focus on the track laid out before you.  Remember the training that you've received - the Word of God; and as you are fully aware of other runners behind you, alongside of you or even in front of you, don't lose sight of the finish line.  Pace yourself and remember to breath. A prayer life will help you with this.

Stay on track and don't trip....

My Little, His Lot

Throughout the things that I've encountered in life, one thing has constantly proven true and that's the fact of God taking my little and making it a lot.

I recall a time when I felt that I could get by in life without paying my tithes. Well how wrong was I proven to be!  I had the same monthly expenses, but for the life of me couldn't take care of my obligations.  As soon a I checked back into reality and began paying them again - my financial situation improved tremendously and has consistently been on an incline ever since.

Again recently, I was reminded of my little and His lot! As a result of the economy and reform and cut backs - we are being challenged to do more with less.  For a few months at work, I struggled greatly with this notion and in "my mind" couldn't imagine how this would work.  It wasn't until I chose to let go and let God that He worked it out.  He has once again taken my little and made it a lot.  My team and I are accomplishing just as much, if not more with less.

When we remove out logic from the situation, God will do more with our little than ever imagined.  Try Him today!
