Fresh Eyes....

Start today going forward by looking at your life with fresh eyes. I recently took on a new position at work, which came with a new team and new operations.   Being that I wasn't familiar with it, I was able to see many things that could potentially be performed differently - because I was coming in with fresh eyes.   I recognized some staff members who may possibly be underutilized, while others held positions that they may not be well suited for.  A part of my responsibility is to analyze the flow; to identity waste and implement process improvements.

It got me to thinking about how we live life, day in and day out with the same viewpoint.  However, today look at your life with fresh eyes.  Where is there waste?  Where is there the potential to do some things differently?  How might you gain efficiencies and have a better outcome if you just tweaked a few things?

I've been through process improvements before in the workplace in order to gain efficiencies, and they are not always fun.  They challenge you; they stretch you; they force you outside of your comfort zone; they expose you; they put other eyes on you; they can make you down right uncomfortable. BUT - they made us better!!!  I've had to adjust a few processes in my personal life AND it has made me better!!!

Today, look at your life through fresh eyes.  Is it time for some process improvements?

"Even if it's not broken, it can still be improved!!!"

Thought For The Day...

"You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change."

You're Too Heavy...

"Give yourself permission to serve God with joy and with gladness. You're getting too heavy. Sometimes we obsess over everything, we gripe and complain about everything.  Everything is a problem; everything is a crisis.  Just chill! We let the devil put any foot in the door to rob us of what God has for us."
- Pastor Jonathan Miller

I think sometimes we create issues for ourselves by not knowing when to drop people, situations and things that weigh us down.  The other night when I heard this statement, it resounded with me.  We are a key factor in our own enjoyment in life!  Why do we find it too easy to inconvenience ourselves for others who don't necessarily have our best interest at heart? Why is it so hard for us to move on?  Why do we insist on turning a mole hill into a mountain?  Why do we look for things to go wrong?  As stated above, this is a ploy of the enemy and many times we fall right into his trap.

Lighten up and experience the fullness of God's joy.  Be yourself and do you as long as you remain in God's will.

But If Not...

As I sat this morning listening to Pastor John Hagee, he said something that really struck a place in me and that was, "Disappointment should not lead you to disbelief!"

Just because God does not do what you want Him to do, does not mean that He cannot do it.   Therefore, we must begin to say, "But if not..."  Lord I know that you can do this, but if not - I still trust you.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)... “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.  For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

God is not bound to our limiting thoughts and He will accomplish His will as He sees fit.

Remember, if God does not do something, it doesn't mean that He cannot - it means He has other plans.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NLT)... For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Disappointment should not lead you to disbelief!

Rejection is direction!

God's delays are not necessarily God's denials!

Let Go and Let God...

I've learned that some of the best things in life are not planned.

That it only takes you stepping outside of you to get the blessing that was about to pass you by.

That when you trust God for real and not just in words, He floods you with goodness beyond your greatest fantasy.

That when you obey, even when it hurts, the greatness that follows erases the memories of the pain.

I've learned that when we try to hold too tightly to the lives that are not ours, we miss the awesome plans that are His, and in return we could be left with misery.

So today, I leave this thought with you... LET GO AND LET GOD!

Be Thankful Always...

There is always something for which you can be thankful!

Years ago, I heard the story of an Englishman by the name of Matthew Henry. One day Matthew Henry was riding his horse through the woods. He was on his way to a church meeting where he was going to be the guest speaker. Suddenly, a masked bandit ran out of the woods with a gun in his hand and demanded that Matthew Henry get off of his horse. Mr. Henry obeyed the robber, as he knew this was a dangerous situation.  His mind took him to the thought that we are supposed to give thanks in everything that happens to us. He asked God how he was supposed to be thankful for being robbed! As he continued on his way, the answer came to him.

“First,” he said, “I am thankful I have never been robbed before.

Second, I am thankful he took my money and not my life.

Third, I am thankful he did not take more; he could have taken my horse and my clothes as well.

Next, I am thankful that what I had stolen from me really did not amount to very much. Then I am grateful that what I lost, in time, could be replaced.

But, finally, and most importantly, I am thankful that I was the one robbed and not the robber!”

I Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)…. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
